CookingTipsfromAroundtheWorld started its journey in 1992. I tried selling the video concept to major networks but ran into union problems since the producer is also the videographer, director, gaff, lighting person, sound engineer and script writer. So trying to get this on cable TV was impossible since there are union rules and going solo wasn’t one of them.
I, begrudgingly, had to put this project into storage and continued on with life with several other projects including producing consumer TV programing for WHHI television on Hilton Head Island. Then, in 2009, with the internet having broadband speed, the videos came to life on Cookingtipstv and have been enjoyed with over 4 million views.
I videoed 40 cooking schools and chefs and my plan was to Skype with them all and get updates. Not surprisingly, several have become food ambassadors for their country and very successful in the industry. After trying to contact several, I’m finding that they are either: deceased, non-responsive or too busy to chat, so I’ve decided to contact other chefs and have them prepare different recipes and offer tips.
